Training provided by the USO
For each of the courses listed below (alphabetically) there is a data sheet to upload with information about the assumed training levels, who the course is aimed at and a synopsis of the course content. The sheet also includes details of any prices where this is needed.
If you log-in and also have password permissions you will be able to access the course notes etc. from an additional tab at the top of the page. If you log-in and cannot see this tab then contact the USO and ask for your uer permissions to be changed to let you access the course notes, handouts and powerpoint slides.
Markings - "Core" courses (see general information panel) show those courses that the USO pays for internal University attendees. Other courses may have charges for some people to attend or have access restricted in some way.

Training from external organisations
The USO provides a considerable amount of training using external contractors. Where this is done for a 'core' course - or where the USO agrees in agvance - the costs will be carried by the USO. However if the course is to be charged to the Schools the School will be charged for the individual places on the course. Where Schools want to provide a course using the external contractors (to supplement the USO provision or for bespoke training then the USO will provide the contact details and the School will pay the full cost of the course. The USO will be happy to assist Schools by advertising 'spare' places on courses bought in to other Schools (fees will be an isse between the Schools concernced).
School / Institute / Service Safety Training
It is necessary for Schools / Institutes and Services to provide their own local Safety Training in addition to those courses provided by the USO. The following links provide information for staff on the various on-line safety trainng information where the USO have been provided with the links. If you have more to add to this list please send the link to the USO so that your safety training can be made visible below.
Please note: Many links provided to School (etc.) sites are not accessible from off site computers - or sometimes from staff outside the relevant School (etc.).
Training resources from other sites
There are a wide variety of training resources from other sites available to use free of charge. These are a few that the USO consider useful. If you have more that you would like to add to this list please e-mail the USO to request that they are added. Note we do not add resources that are fundamentally advertising or that are short life and likely to disappear. If you find that these links are broken please let us know.
