Safety Topics
The University Safety Office website has several topics that are so large that they deserve a whole sub-sites of their own.
The list of topics will change but at present it is the same as the list of USO specialist services - namely
- BioSafety for all issues relating to biological agents and their use, and Genetically Modification
- Chemical Safety for all general chemical safety matters
- Diving for all diving related material at the University. These pages are managed by the Diving specialists as well as the USO staff.
- Fire Safety for all general fire safety matters
- Radiation Safety for all ionising and non-ionising radiation issues
In addition tho this there is a considerable amount of information in the Guidance A to Z page and several significant major pages which comprise smaller less specialist sub-sites.
In all cases when seeking information please look for the topic pages as they are often the most suthoritative information available - or they have links to the best data that we can find.
The HSE website is also divided into several topic areas (differing from the USO ones) and these are briefly laid out below (NB the HSE site is subject to a large amount of change and we cannot guarentee links to the HSE site.)
Please inform the USO of any broken links that you find - the page they occured on, the text that formed the link and the error message (normally a "404" message).
